PORRETTA – Charles “Chuck” Bernardini avvocato pro-bono a Chicago ha scritto all’amico Graziano Uliani questo messaggio ricevuto da Priscilla Presley, la vedova di Elvis.
In passato il festival aveva già ospitato musicisti legati a Presley come le Sweet Inspirations, le sue coriste storiche e i Memphis Horns che con Elvis hanno inciso l’album “Elvis in Memphis” nel 1969.
“Memphis Music is alive and well in Porretta, Italy! Thank you, Porretta Music Festival, for celebrating the timeless sounds of Memphis Rock ‘n Roll and Memphis Soul. It is heartwarming to know your house band is a rock ‘n roll band from Memphis, Tennessee – The Memphis All Stars! Elvis would love knowing you honor his legacy by playing the songs he loved that are rooted in Memphis and the Southern Delta. In the same way, Elvis was inspired by so many of your Italian melodies and singers – Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Mario Lanza, and Caruso. Your festival proves great music is truly universal!”.
